THEKKADY - 2 nights & 03 days


DAY01: COCHIN -THEKKADY

Morning pickup from Cochin airport/Conference venue and transfer to Thekkady (around 5 hrs drive).

Thekkady, one of India's major wildlife sanctuaries, sprawled over an area of 777sq.kms is rich in varied flora and fauna. It is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations of tea, cardamom, pepper, cloves and cinnamon in the High Ranges and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.

On arrival, check into your hotel and relax. Afternoonvisit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Enjoy boating to see the wildlife in close range. Elephants, wild boar, bison are the main attraction here. Optional activities -Jungle trekking, Jungle Jeep Safari, Bamboo Rafting etc.

DAY 02: THEKKADY -ALLEPPEY (OVERNIGHT CRUISE)

Morning after breakfast check out and proceed to Alleppey. (Around 04 hrs drive)

Officially called Alappuzha, Alleppey is a city in the South Indian state of Kerala. Bordering the Laccadive Sea, it is known for its wide network of interlinking, palm-fringed canals called backwaters and rejuvenating Ayurvedic resorts. Alleppey is also popular for its Houseboat cruises that pass through the serene backwaters, where you can catch glimpses of green paddy fields, choir making activities, beautiful avifauna and witness the life of locals in Kerala. Towards the shore lies the Alleppey beach in the Arabian Sea, a beautiful example of the gems you’d find along the Malabar Coast. The appeal of this beach is only amplified by the history attached to it, and a walk down the 137-year old pier is a must.

Overnight atThekkady.

By 12:00 hrs board traditional Kerala houseboat from Pallathuruthy boat Jetty, Alleppey. During the cruise, the countryside offers a close look into an engaging rustic life. You can see skilled fishermen launching their cocks hell boats, large flotillas of ducks waddling down to the water from thatched houses on the banks, women neck deep in water, with their waist-length hair heaped in a crown, searching for fish with their feet and aimless cattle grazing in lush pastureland, where white lotuses lie here and there in small, low-lying pools. The personal chef on the houseboat will prepare delicious Kerala style cuisine for you on board. Evening, cruise up to sunset and then the houseboat will be anchored for dinner night.

DAY 03: THEKKADY - COCHIN
Morning after a brief cruise and breakfast, disembark houseboat at 09:00 AM at Pallathuruthy Jetty andtransfer to Cochin airport/Conference venue.
